A screenshot from the ACE MAX motherboard BIOS reveals a new addition to the OC settings, termed “CPU Fast Throttle Threshold.” This functionality is designed to extend the CPU temperature limit beyond the default over-temperature protect ion settings. Ordinarily, the CPU’s throttling point rests at 107°C, but users have the abili ty to raise this setting to a maximum of 115°C (TjMax). MSI’s latest feature ai ms to avert CPU throttling below the 115°C mark. Manual input is also possible, but it is reported to be compatible exclusively with 14th Gen Core CPUs. According to kuroberu, the user who shared the Z790 ACE MAX motherboard screensh ot, this feature is designed specifically for Intel’s 14th Gen Core CPUs. Wccft ech, who have direct contact with the MSI motherboard team, clarified that this feature will also be accessible for 600 series motherboards. Undoubtedly, the high-end Core i9 SKUs will demand lots of power when overclocke d. Such features are essential to guarantee the CPU’s continuous boost capabili ty, especially when the cooling solution may not be entirely adequate. Neverthel ess, it’s important for users to confirm that their cooling systems are built t o withstand prolonged high-temperature conditions and should exercise caution wh en considering overclocking.
