Note: Many users and developers have found it easier to backup all their
data and configuration files (a wise precaution in any case), perform a
binary installation (such as from CDROM), and restore their data. Compared
to a source upgrade, the binary upgrade removes the need to deal with
leftover files and programs on the disk, and allows the system to take
advantage of new file system features such as the UFS2 file system layout.
