根據本地的元件供應商消息，Benq最近接獲pioneer的16x DVD-ROM的OEM訂單，
會從這個月以後開始出貨。
但是，基於客戶機密，Benq婉拒對這件事做出評論。
原先Benq是幫pioneer做DVD-ROM以及DVD-RW燒錄機的OEM/ODM，但是在2003年跟菲利普結
盟為菲利普-笨Q數位儲存(PBDS)之後就停止了。
自此以後，pioneer將OEM/ODM代工的事情轉給了Asustek。
Pioneer原本要求Asustek使用pioneer的讀取頭(PUHs)，這是一個主要的DVD裝置。
然而因為量小，所以使用這種讀取頭為pioneer代工的成本很高。
為了達到做這個16x DVD-ROM新機種的最小成本，pioneer利用Benq幫Philip代工之便，
將OEM訂單下給Benq。
Pioneer是全球第二大DVD-ROM廠商，僅次於Hitachi-LG 資料儲存(HLDS)。
