Google 又來典藏人類文化資產了！這回將跟大英圖書館聯手，一口氣要將館內約 250,000 冊無版權的珍稀書數位化，最久遠的書籍（或是一些手稿、卷宗）可追溯到工業革命、克里米亞戰爭，而這些書數位化後，將可以在 Google Books 以及大英圖書館的網站上面供大家檢索、閱讀，而這次數位化的全部費用，將由 Google 買單，可以說是佛到不行；引用來源有來自大英圖書館的新聞稿。由 Casper Kao, Engadget中文版。 ______________________________________________________________________________ The British Library and Google to make 250,000 books available to all Major project to digitise up to 40 million pages from 1700-1870, from the French Revolution to the end of slavery 主要的進行項目是數位化多達4千萬頁數的書籍，從1700年~1870年法國大革命到結束奴隸制度。 The British Library and Google today announced a partnership to digitise 250,000 out-of-copyright books from the Library’s collections.
