check your shell
# echo $SHELL
if shell is csh/tcsh
then
# setenv PORTS_DBDRIVER bdb1_hash
and add this to ~/.cshrc(/etc/cshrc)
else if shell is bash
then
# export PORTS_DBDRIVER=bdb1_hash
and add this to ~/.bashrc(/etc/profile)
finally, just do
# portsdb -Uu
regrades,
