AMD Joins Intel in Raising PC CPU Prices by Up to 15%
Last week, we reported that Intel ispreparing to increaseCPU prices by 10% acr
oss its client PC sector. However, a new report from Nikkei Asia suggests that A
MD is also joining this trend, with plans for a PC CPU price hike as well. Repor
tedly, AMD Ryzen CPUs could see prices rise by 15% compared to the same time las
t year, when prices were typically around the MSRP at retailers. Now, as CPU dem
and has depleted inventories and the focus remains on server and data center CPU
production, capacity for the client segment has been significantly reduced, lea
ding to little to no inventory for PC enthusiasts. Large OEMs like HP and Dell a
re among the first to feel the pressure from the dwindling supply chain and have
reported a significant gap between demand and supply for their PC systems.Nikke

increases will take effect by the end of March and into April, which should star
t to manifest very soon. What used to be a one or two-week wait from order to CP
U shipment has now stretched to a process lasting eight to twelve weeks. This me
ans that a CPU batch ordered in April might not arrive until June. This period i
s expected to be the worst in terms of supply in the second quarter of this year
. Even if OEMs are willing to pay extra to secure CPU supply, availability is la
cking. The CPU shortage is worsening daily, coinciding with the ongoing memory a
nd storage shortage we are already experiencing.Yesterday, ASUS Joint Technology
Systems Division General Manager Yi-Hsiang Liao announced a planned 30% price h
ike across the company's entire product line. He explained that the extremely hi
gh costs of DRAM and SSD storage, combined with a shortage of CPUs, are driving
this increase. ASUS also claims that this issue is not limited to their company,
as every Taiwanese PC maker will face similar challenges. As the CPU shortage w
orsens, we expect these price hikes to become more common, creating a very chall
enging situation for PC enthusiasts.

上週，我們曾報導 Intel 正準備在其消費級 PC 市場全面調漲 CPU 價格約 10%。然而，來
自 日經亞洲 的最新報導指出，AMD 也將加入這股漲價潮，計畫調升 PC CPU 的價格。
據報導，AMD Ryzen 處理器的價格可能會比去年同期上漲約 15%；當時零售價格通常接近建
議售價（MSRP）。如今，由於 CPU 需求消耗了庫存，加上產能重心轉向伺服器與資料中心
用處理器，導致消費級市場的產能大幅縮減，使 PC 玩家幾乎無貨可買。
大型 OEM 廠商如 HP 和 Dell 已率先感受到供應鏈壓力，並回報其 PC 系統的需求與供給
之間出現顯著落差。
日經亞洲也指出，AMD 與 Intel 已通知客戶，CPU 價格調漲將於 3 月底至 4 月間生效，
並很快就會反映在市場上。原本下單後一至兩週即可出貨的情況，如今已延長至 8 至 12
週。這意味著 4 月訂購的 CPU 批次，可能要到 6 月才會到貨。預計今年第二季將是供應
最吃緊的時期。
即使 OEM 願意支付更高價格來確保 CPU 供應，實際上仍然難以取得貨源。CPU 短缺問題正
在日益惡化，同時也與目前持續的記憶體與儲存裝置短缺情況相互疊加。
昨天，ASUS 聯合科技系統事業群總經理廖逸翔宣布，公司計畫將全產品線價格上調 30%。
他表示，DRAM 與 SSD 儲存成本飆升，再加上 CPU 短缺，是推動此波漲價的主因。
ASUS 也指出，這並非單一公司的問題，所有台灣 PC 製造商都將面臨類似挑戰。
隨著 CPU 供應持續惡化，我們預期這類價格上漲將變得更加普遍，對 PC 玩家而言，市場
環境將變得相當艱難。
